Incluída en el album mas importante de Guns N' Roses, 'Use your Ilusion' en 1991, November Rain obtuvo un gran reconocimiento desde su publicación, como una de las mejores canciones de la historia del rock. El grupo estaba formado por Axl Rose (voz), Slash (guitarra), Izzy Stradlin (Guitarra rítmica), Duff McKagan (Bajo) Matt Sorum (Bateria) y Dizzy Reed (Piano y coros)
La canción fué compuesta por Axl Rose y tiene una duración de 8:50 minutos. Se convirtió pronto en el tema mas solucitado en MTV. Tiene un sonido de estilo sinfónico muy marcado (debido sobre todo a la incorporación del piano como uno de los instrumentos de mas importancia en gran parte de la canción) hasta la llegada del solo de slash, sobre el minuto 7 de cancion.
Es la canción mas larga que entró en la lista Billboard Hot 100, publicada por la revista Billboard semanalmente, la cual incluye las canciones mas vendidas en EEUU
Es muy significativo el solo de Slash, de una duración de algo mas de 2 minutos, casi al final del tema.
